Survey: 43% of UAE residents want to buy an electric car

A survey conducted by Audi Abu Dhabi has revealed a major shift in UAE residents' buying habits for electric cars. 43% of survey participants said they would like to buy or own an electric car as their primary mode of transportation.

The survey results show that 77% of people in the UAE are willing to travel long distances using electric cars, indicating increasing confidence in these vehicles and their ability to meet a variety of travel needs.

Although 83% of survey participants are aware of the expansion of the electric car charging network in the Emirates, only 20% of them are still not comfortable with owning an electric car, confirming the importance of continued efforts to build trust in the infrastructure. Electric car system.

Encouraging results revealed by a study on making electric vehicles the primary and only mode of transportation for residents of the Emirates, 40% of participants expressed satisfaction with the idea of ​​having an electric car as their only car. This highlights the increasing trend towards using sustainable mobility solutions. Emiratis and Arab expatriates are at the forefront of this trend. Between 50% and 60% of them express the possibility of buying an electric car in the future.

According to the survey, 41% of Abu Dhabi residents reported the possibility of installing a charging point at home, which makes them more convenient and easier to access more charging points.

Scott Shears, General Manager, Audi Abu Dhabi, said: “In light of the rapid growth in the personal transport sector, we are pleased to see the results of our survey show that demand for electric cars is increasing among the UAE population.
