The Finnish city of Kareka came second in a close battle between the neighbors to the north, and was hosted by Britain on behalf of Ukraine, which was crowned last year’s winner but is unable to host the event due to the ongoing Russian invasion.

In the closing ceremony events, Ukrainian folk band Galushin, last year’s winner, opened the show in Liverpool.

Air raid sirens rang out across Ukraine as the match began.
