The Economist: Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the most livable cities in the region

According to the British “The Economist Intelligence Unit”, in 2023, Dubai and Abu Dhabi retained the first and second places as the most liveable cities in the Middle East and North Africa region for the fifth year in a row. Economist” magazine.

After Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the list of top 10 cities includes: Tel Aviv, Kuwait City, Doha, Bahrain, Muscat, Riyadh, Amman and Jeddah. According to the study, Canadian, European and Australian cities dominate the global list of best cities to live in, with Vienna at the top, followed by Copenhagen, Melbourne, Sydney, Vancouver, Zurich, Calgary, Geneva, Toronto, Osaka and Auckland, Damascus, Tripoli, Algeria, Lagos, Karachi. , Port Moresby, Dhaka and Harare, Kiev and Douala are unlivable cities.

The study ranks living conditions in 173 cities across five categories: stability, health care, culture, environment, education and infrastructure.

Most of the cities around the world have recovered from the corona virus. Cities in the Asia-Pacific region have rebounded the most. The index also indicates that life in cities is slightly better than it was 15 years ago.

A subsistence survey is designed to help companies calculate hardship allowances for employees moving to a new city. In fact, most of the top 50 cities are in rich countries.

Post-pandemic improvements in Asia, Africa and the Middle East were the main reasons for higher living standards this year.

At the bottom of the ranking is Damascus, the least liveable city in the index for more than a decade. The Libyan capital, Tripoli, is about the same, although its score is ten points higher than the war-torn Syrian capital. Kiev, despite its efforts to protect itself from war, appears in the top ten.
