TK Elevator (TKE), a global provider of vertical transportation and urban mobility solutions, has received several honours at the Dubai Airports Health & Safety Awards 2025. The company secured first place in both the Contractor Safety Excellence Award and the Safe Leader Award, and was also recognised as runner-up in the Safe Supervisor category. The awards place TK Elevator among the leading contractors for safety performance at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Dubai International Airport is the world’s busiest airport for international passengers. In 2024, it handled more than 92.3 million travellers and connected over 279 destinations across six continents. In such a high-volume and complex environment, strong safety systems and reliable operations are essential.

TK Elevator is responsible for operating and maintaining passenger boarding bridges and related airport systems at DXB. These systems link aircraft and terminals and support thousands of docking movements each day. They play a key role in keeping passenger movement safe, efficient and energy conscious. The company applies standard safety processes, advanced technology and trained teams to manage these operations.

At DXB, TK Elevator has introduced a range of safety measures designed for the local operating environment. These include heat stress prevention procedures, dedicated personal protective equipment programmes and improved Lockout/Tagout systems. Each measure addresses the demands of working at one of the world’s busiest airports.

“These awards are a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our entire team in Dubai,” said Ignacio Medina, CEO of TK Airport Solutions. “It shows that our efforts are making a real difference. Safety is non-negotiable for us – it reflects strong leadership, teamwork, and our unwavering commitment to ensuring every colleague returns home safe every day. Our sincere thanks to Dubai Airports for trusting us as a long-term partner.”

In total, 35 contractors submitted more than 200 entries across six award categories. TK Elevator entered three categories and received recognition in all of them, winning the Contractor Safety Excellence Award and Safe Leader Award, and placing second in the Safe Supervisor Award.

“Dubai Airports uses TK Elevator as the benchmark for safety among all contractors,” underlines Mohamed Khalfan, Vice President Airport Logistics and Airfield Engineering, Dubai Airports.

Safety at the centre of operations

Safety forms a core part of TK Elevator’s business approach. It aligns with the company’s wider environmental, social and governance framework, which focuses on strong leadership, employee engagement and structured risk management.

This approach is reflected in the company’s global safety programme, “We Get Home”, launched in 2023. The programme applies across employees, contractors and supply chain partners, with a consistent method used worldwide. It supports long-term safety culture while contributing to safer airport operations, reliable infrastructure and efficient transport systems.

By maintaining high safety standards at major hubs such as Dubai International Airport, TK Elevator supports safe and reliable passenger movement and contributes to sustainable urban mobility. The company plays a role in keeping global travel networks operating smoothly and safely.
