In January, the two countries announced that they would begin bilateral talks to end the controversy that has been inherited since the Trump era.
In June 2018, the Trump administration imposed additional tariffs on steel and aluminum imported by the United States from several countries, including Britain. These penalty duties are 25% on steel and 10% on aluminum.
In October, President Joe Biden’s administration reached another similar agreement with the European Union and in February with Japan.
