DHL Express and Landmark Group Launch Joint Initiative to Cut Carbon in Regional Supply Chains

  • Landmark Group partners with DHL’s GoGreen Plus initiative to curb Scope 3 emissions through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
  • Partnership aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 ambitions and supports the rising need for low-carbon logistics solutions

DHL Express, the world’s leading provider of express logistics services, has signed a new sustainability partnership with Landmark Group, signalling a strong move towards achieving carbon-neutral supply chains across international trade routes.

Under the agreement, Landmark Group – which manages more than 2,200 retail outlets across 21 countries and employs over 50,000 people – will adopt DHL’s GoGreen Plus programme to significantly cut carbon emissions across its global air freight movements through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

DHL’s GoGreen Plus model shifts away from conventional carbon-offsetting practices by directly reducing emissions within the logistics chain. This is achieved by substituting fossil-based jet fuel with SAF derived from renewable sources, lowering the environmental footprint at the point of transport rather than compensating for it elsewhere.

Each tonne of SAF deployed through the GoGreen Plus service can deliver up to an 80 per cent reduction in lifecycle carbon emissions when compared with traditional aviation fuel. All carbon reductions are independently validated and certified by SGS, Société Générale de Surveillance, ensuring full transparency and traceability for customers.

The agreement was officially signed at DHL’s UAE Head Office in Dubai by Mahmoud Haj Hussein, Country Manager of DHL Express UAE, and Rajesh Garg, Group Chief Financial Officer & Chief Sustainability Officer at Landmark Group.

During the signing, Mahmoud Haj Hussein said, “DHL has committed to investing €7 billion globally in climate-neutral logistics by 2030, and partnerships like this demonstrate how we’re translating that ambition into measurable action. Landmark Group’s decision to adopt GoGreen Plus reflects how progressive enterprises are keen on moving the industry toward a net-zero future. We’re proud to support their decarbonisation goals with logistics solutions that deliver transparency, credibility, and real impact.”

Rajesh Garg added, “At Landmark Group, we are embedding sustainability into every aspect of our business and supply chain. Our partnership with DHL marks an important step in reducing our Scope 3 emissions and advancing our decarbonisation goals through credible solutions like Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Collaboration with forward-thinking partners is essential as we transition toward a net-zero future.”

The partnership contributes to the UAE’s National Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, reinforcing the nation’s aspirations to lead in global climate action and sustainable growth. By tackling Scope 3 emissions – typically the most challenging to reduce – the two organisations are helping drive the broader transformation required to achieve long-term environmental commitments.
