Dubai Police Warn Public About Fake Work Visa Offers

Dubai Police have issued a public warning about work visa scams that target job seekers. The Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation says fraudsters are using false claims of employment and visa sponsorship that have no legal standing.

Police say these scams often rely on false assurances and pressure to make quick payments. As part of the ongoing #BewareOfFraud campaign, Dubai Police have reminded the public that visas can only be obtained through official government systems and licensed recruitment agencies.

Steps to Stay Safe

Dubai Police advise members of the public to take the following steps to reduce the risk of fraud:

Check Before You Pay: Confirm the validity of any visa offer with the relevant official authorities before sending money.

Use Approved Routes: Process visas only through authorised government platforms or licensed service providers.

Remain Alert: Treat offers of “guaranteed” visas outside formal legal procedures with caution.

How to Report Suspected Fraud

Dubai Police encourage anyone who encounters a suspected scam to report it. Reporting helps protect others and supports enforcement action. Fraud and cybercrime reports can be made through:

The Dubai Police Smart App: Allows reports to be submitted directly through a mobile device.

The eCrime Platform: Used to report online fraud and digital offences.

Call 901: For non-emergency enquiries and support from Dubai Police specialists.
