Central Hotels & Resorts Promotes Employee Wellness During Dubai Fitness Challenge

Encouraging teams to stay active, connect, and prioritise well-being through the “30 Minutes for a Healthier You!” initiative

Central Hotels & Resorts, a leading UAE-born hospitality group, has introduced its staff-focused wellness campaign, “30 Minutes for a Healthier You!”, in celebration of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC). Throughout 1–30 November, employees residing in staff accommodation are encouraged to dedicate 30 minutes each day to movement—whether that’s walking, stretching, dancing, or joining small group exercise sessions.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge, now in its ninth year, is inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. This year’s theme, “Find Your Challenge,” transforms Dubai into a citywide hub of free fitness activities, community workouts, and outdoor classes, reinforcing the city’s ambition to become one of the most active cities globally.

Central Hotels & Resorts’ month-long programme brings wellbeing directly into staff housing spaces through themed weekly activities. Week one, “Get Moving!”, features group stretch sessions, Zumba, and a step challenge. Week two, “Build Strength,” includes bodyweight training, a wall-sit competition, and a special martial arts class delivered by Force Strike Martial Arts.

In week three, “Fun Fitness” introduces daily mini challenges, lively Zumba classes, and a Healthy Meal Day that encourages colleagues to share nutritious juices and snacks. The final week, “Team Challenge & Closing,” wraps up with a friendly relay race, fitness trivia, and an awards gathering where the “Most Active Participant” will be celebrated with certificates and branded wellness items.

Energetic engagement has been felt across Royal Central Hotel The Palm, C Central Resort The Palm, and Canal Central Hotel Business Bay. Staff are forming walking groups, sharing progress updates in WhatsApp communities, and motivating one another daily. What began as a fitness initiative has developed into a shared experience of joy, teamwork, and encouragement.

“At Central Hotels & Resorts, our people are the heart of our success,” said Abdulla Ahmad Ali Al Abdulla Al Ansari, Chief Operating Officer and Group General Manager. “This challenge is not just about fitness—it’s about supporting one another, celebrating progress, and building a healthy mindset as a team. We want our colleagues to feel empowered to make wellness a lasting part of their lifestyle.”

Through this initiative, Central Hotels & Resorts is nurturing a supportive culture centred around wellbeing, unity, and care—reflecting its commitment to hospitality that champions holistic health and happiness.
