Danish Furniture Brand BoConcept Unveils Dubai Hills Mall Flagship as New Ownership Era Begins

A prominent Danish furniture retailer has marked a significant milestone in its Middle Eastern operations with the official launch of a flagship showroom in one of Dubai’s most sought-after retail destinations.

BoConcept has formally opened its Dubai Hills Mall location on 19th January, several weeks after a soft launch in November, signalling a fresh strategic direction for the brand in the United Arab Emirates under new ownership. The opening event drew industry professionals from across the design, architecture, real estate and creative sectors, reflecting the brand’s positioning within the region’s contemporary design landscape.

The 1952-founded Danish company, which has built an international presence spanning more than 60 countries over seven decades, has maintained a foothold in Middle Eastern markets for over twenty years. Yet this latest showroom represents more than simply another retail location. According to company leadership, it marks the beginning of a renewed growth phase following recent ownership changes.

Jesper Christensen, Director of BoConcept EMEA, addressed the significance of the launch during the opening event. “This showroom represents an important step forward for BoConcept in the region. With new ownership and a renewed focus on growth, Dubai Hills Mall provides the ideal platform to present our design philosophy to an audience that values quality, flexibility and contemporary living,” he said.

The showroom itself has been designed to function as both a commercial space and a design-focused environment. Visitors will find curated collections spanning living room, dining and home office furniture, all reflecting the Scandinavian design principles of craftsmanship, functionality and timeless aesthetics that have defined the brand since its inception.

Notably, the store showcases pieces created through collaborations with internationally recognised designers including Karim Rashid, Oki Sato of nendo, Morten Georgsen and Helena Christensen. Dedicated zones throughout the space highlight BoConcept’s emphasis on modularity, customisation options and interior styling services.

Julia Fadeeva, Managing Director of BoConcept UAE, emphasised the human element behind the brand’s regional strategy. “At the heart of this new chapter is our team and the level of service we offer. The Dubai Hills Mall showroom is designed to support design-minded individuals and interior designers alike, providing personalised guidance, technical knowledge and flexible solutions that allow every project to be approached with confidence and creativity,” she explained.

The choice of Dubai Hills Mall as the location for this flagship store appears strategic. Developed by Emaar Properties, the shopping centre spans 2 million square feet within Dubai Hills Estate and features over 650 retail and dining outlets. It includes entertainment attractions such as the record-breaking Storm Coaster and serves as a central hub for one of the emirate’s most desirable residential communities.

For a furniture brand targeting design-conscious homeowners and professionals, the location offers direct access to precisely the demographic most likely to invest in premium contemporary furnishings. The surrounding Dubai Hills Estate has become synonymous with upscale urban living, making it an ideal setting for a brand that positions itself around contemporary lifestyle solutions.

BoConcept’s business model centres on personalisation and flexibility, allowing customers to customise nearly every design element. This approach to what the company describes as “affordable luxury furniture solutions” targets urban-minded customers who prioritise design, energy and style across all aspects of their lives. The brand operates under the motto “Live Ekstraordinær,” reflecting its Danish heritage whilst appealing to an international clientele.

With the official opening now concluded, company representatives indicate that the Dubai Hills Mall showroom will set the template for BoConcept’s next phase of regional development. The focus, according to leadership, remains on thoughtful design, service excellence and sustainable long-term growth throughout the UAE market.

The furniture retailer’s renewed commitment to the region comes at a time when Dubai continues to position itself as a global design and lifestyle destination. The emirate’s expanding residential developments and growing population of design-conscious consumers create favourable conditions for premium furniture brands seeking to establish or expand their presence.

As BoConcept embarks on this new chapter under different ownership, the Dubai Hills Mall flagship serves as both a statement of intent and a practical platform for connecting with customers who value the intersection of Scandinavian design principles and contemporary Middle Eastern luxury living. Whether this marks the beginning of broader expansion plans across the UAE remains to be seen, but the investment in a premium location suggests confidence in the market’s potential.
