“Sinatra the Musical” opens at the Birmingham Rep Theater on September 23, marking the 70th anniversary of the singer’s “Come Fly With Me” and “New York” tours. , New York” in the United Kingdom, which will continue until October 28 (October), when he performed in the same city.
The show begins with the events of New Year’s Eve 1942, with Sinatra as a young man (age 27) performing on the stage of the Paramount Theater in New York fueling his success.
In a statement about the show, producers said that he “struggled to balance his love for his wife, Nancy, with the demands and urges of being the most popular singer in America” ​​as he became a popular music star.
The musical recounts the impact the late star’s relationship with actress Ava Gardner had on his life and how he made “the biggest comeback in the history of entertainment.”

The show is written by Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro.
“I had two pictures hanging in my grandmother’s kitchen, one of the Pope and one of Frank Sinatra, so I was able to sit down with Tina Sinatra and hear stories about her father that no one knew, and then put those stories on stage.
