Dubai’s Largest Corporate Cricket Tournament Returns as The Jafza Cup presented by We One Welcomes Record 64 Teams

The Jafza Cup presented by We One is set to return in its biggest format yet, with a record 64 corporate teams from across Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) taking part in a month-long celebration of cricket, fitness, and team spirit as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Organised by DP World and staged at the We One Community Cricket Ground in Mina Jebel Ali, the tournament will run from 1 to 30 November 2025. It forms part of this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), uniting employees, businesses, and local sports enthusiasts in support of the city’s “30 minutes for 30 days” initiative.

Now entering its third year, the Jafza Cup has established itself as a key highlight of Dubai’s corporate sports calendar, reflecting the ongoing efforts of DP World and Jafza to encourage wellbeing in the workplace and promote cricket as a sport that brings people together.

Following last year’s lively competition, where DHL Express secured the championship title out of 48 participating teams, this year’s expanded line-up will see 30 days of matches leading up to the naming of the 2025 Jafza Cup winners at the end of the month.

Ahead of the tournament, a Captains’ Day was held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 25 October, providing an opportunity for team captains, partners, and organisers to come together and celebrate the start of this year’s event.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO – Parks & Zones, DP World GCC said: “The Jafza Cup has grown into the largest corporate cricket tournament in Dubai and this year’s record participation is a testament to the engagement and spirit of our business community. Beyond competition, it’s about teamwork, wellbeing and building stronger connections between colleagues and companies across the Free Zone.”

Ayoub Al Mulla, COO – We One, added: “We One is proud to host the Jafza Cup once again and to support Dubai Fitness Challenge in promoting active, healthy lifestyles. This tournament embodies the best of Dubai’s community spirit through a shared love of cricket.”

The Jafza Cup presented by We One underscores DP World’s long-standing commitment to community sport and its belief that physical activity drives productivity, wellbeing, and engagement in the workplace.

Each participating company fields a squad drawn from its own workforce, encouraging employees to represent their organisations both on and off the field.

The tournament also celebrates DP World’s global sports portfolio, which includes partnerships that champion accessibility and grassroots development in sport. DP World is also one of the partners of DFC 2025 and the title sponsor of the DP World Golf Tour and DP World Tour Championship, held from 13-16 November at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

In recognition of its community impact, the Jafza Cup was named Best Community Sports Event at the 2025 Sports Industry Awards (SPIAs), further cementing Dubai’s position as a regional hub for inclusive, large-scale sports events.
