ECOS Dubai Al Furjan Leads the Way in Smart, Sustainable Hospitality Aligned with the UAE Green Agenda 2030

ECOS Dubai Al Furjan continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable operations and technological innovation, marking new progress in eco-forward hospitality. Inspired by the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030, the hotel is actively introducing solutions that support the country’s environmental objectives and contribute to a cleaner and more responsible future.

Sustainability forms the foundation of every aspect of ECOS Dubai Al Furjan’s operations. The property incorporates advanced management systems, including a Building Management System (BMS), Chiller Management System (CMS), and automated lighting controls that help reduce energy usage and optimise performance. Integrated IoT applications additionally support efficient, low-impact hotel operations while maintaining a comfortable and enjoyable guest experience.

All guest rooms at the hotel are non-smoking, and green parking bays are available to encourage environmentally responsible transport choices. Operational decision-making is guided by a comprehensive Sustainability Policy, which places emphasis on sourcing from local suppliers and businesses that hold sustainability certifications. This approach strengthens ECOS’s commitment to community development, ethical purchasing practices, and environmental care.

The hotel team has completed certification through an officially recognised sustainability programme in Dubai, highlighting their dedication to responsible hospitality and alignment with the emirate’s long-term sustainability direction.

As part of its community and environmental engagement, ECOS Dubai Al Furjan collaborates with the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority on programmes designed to protect wetlands and build public awareness. Educational sessions have been delivered to hotel staff to ensure responsibility is embedded across all operations, while guests are invited to contribute through small but impactful actions such as reusing linens and conserving resources.

Since opening, ECOS Dubai Al Furjan has adopted a fully digital, paperless operating model. Printed menus have been replaced with WhatsApp-accessible digital menus for seamless ordering. Meeting rooms are equipped with digital screens that serve as both presentation displays and writing surfaces, reducing paper usage. Digital signage throughout the hotel further supports the reduction of printed materials.

The hotel also employs a smart buffet system to limit food waste, alongside recyclable takeaway containers and reusable shopping bags that reflect its ongoing commitment to reducing environmental impact.

“At ECOS Dubai Al Furjan, sustainability and innovation are woven into our DNA,” said Rafat Gotta, General Manager. “Our goal is to create meaningful change through conscious design, smart technology, and responsible operations — all while providing guests with an exceptional, modern hospitality experience that aligns with their values and with the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future.”

Through the combined implementation of advanced systems, ethical sourcing, digital transformation, and guest-focused environmental awareness, ECOS Dubai Al Furjan demonstrates how hospitality can evolve in a responsible and future-focused way — setting a benchmark for the industry and contributing to a more sustainable tomorrow.
