During its participation in the “COP27” conference, it defined its strategy to achieve the goal through a strategic initiative based on quality plans specific to each sector.

Earlier this year, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health unveiled its sustainability goals in conjunction with Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023. The targets announced by the department focused on reducing carbon emissions by 20 percent by 2030. Achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

During the “Sustainability of the Planet” event in Abu Dhabi, Pure Health announced its new climate commitments in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, President-designate of COP28. For her part, Her Excellency Maryam Bint Mohammed Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, emphasized the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as a key means of protecting the environment and ensuring the health and sustainability of human societies.

He said, “Our national strategy to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 focuses on targets that can be implemented through a sectoral approach to reducing emissions. The UAE affirms the importance of promoting climate action at all levels, especially with the participation of the private sector. The health sector.”

His Excellency added: “The UAE’s Year of Sustainability is an opportunity to promote commitment to collective action both domestically and globally for the benefit of the planet and the UAE’s Conference of the Parties to host ‘COP28’ indicates that a day will be set aside. Within its activities for the health care sector, ensure the contribution of all sectors in reducing emissions. , while the country seeks to organize a global climate event that is inclusive and helps achieve results that appeal to people around the world.

For his part, Mansoor Al Mansoori, Member of the Executive Committee of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Head of the Department of Health, said: “Guided by wise leadership, the department continues to lead sustainability. agenda in the health care sector by providing a clear road map enabling the health system to achieve sustainable operations and practices.”

He added that the department has set short and long-term targets this year within the framework of the strategic goal of reducing emissions by 20 percent by 2030 and achieving zero neutrality by 2050.
