How to Clear Cache and Cookies on Your Android Device

Date:

Cached files are temporary data that an app stores on your phone to make it easier to use the app. This can be your login information, your favorite playlists and other saved default information.

In the same line are cookies, which are stored with browsing information that makes it easier to use the browser on your phone. Sometimes clearing your phone’s app cache and cookies, freeing up space, speeding up your device, and troubleshooting may be necessary. Here’s how to clear cache and cookies on Android.

To clear app cache on Android, go to Settings > Storage > Other apps > (app name) and press Clear the cache. However, the steps may vary depending on your phone, but you’re looking for the App Storage information page.

You can do this even on the go Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > View all apps. Tap and go to the app Storage and temporary storage and press Clear the cache.

There is no way to clear the cache of all apps on your phone at once without using a third-party app. These apps sometimes require additional permissions to work as intended, contain more ads, and aren’t always reliable.
