Oscar 2023.. Three awards for a German film.. India made history with one song

On Sunday, the historic Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California will host the 95th Academy Awards, attended by the most prominent stars of international cinema, and organized to celebrate the best cinematic works produced by the American Academy of Image Sciences and Arts. The year is 2023.

The first awards announced were for the animation category, and Mexican director Guillermo del Toro’s “Pinocchio” won the Oscar for best animated feature. The story of the film revolves around a father’s desire to magically bring a wooden boy back to life in Italy, and a father-son relationship develops between them.

All Quiet on the Western Front, directed by Edward Berger, was the dark horse of the 2023 ceremony, winning 3 Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Production Design and Best Cinematography. A German-made film about the devastating effects on humans during the First World War.

For the first time in Indian history, an Indian song “Nattu Nathu” won the Oscar for Best Original Song. And US network “CNN” on Sunday said the song was the first Indian production to be nominated for an Academy Award, with Bollywood star Deepika Padukone lauding the catchy choreography and melody.

“Avatar 2” won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Director James Cameron did not participate in the ceremony, but he was congratulated more than once. The time gap between the first and second parts of “Avatar” is about 14 years. His story revolves around an independent world that looks like humans but respects nature.

An Irish Goodbye won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short. The film was written and directed by Tom Berkley and Ross White. Classified as a black comedy, the film takes place on the farm of two brothers, one of whom has Down syndrome.

Ruth Carter, the costume designer for Ryan Coogler’s “Wakanda Forever,” won the Oscar for Best Costume Design. A film about the people of Wakanda fighting to protect their homeland from the intervention of world powers.

Rodrigo Fernandez’s “The Whale,” which won the Oscar for best makeup and hairstyling, revolves around a 600-pound father who suffers greatly from his inability to interact with his human surroundings.

And Daniel Rohr’s “Navalny” won the Oscar for best documentary. Follows the story of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and his quest to identify those who poisoned him in August 2020.
