Removes Google Hangouts app from Play Store and App Store

Removed Google The classic Hangouts apps in the App Store, these apps are no longer available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and do not appear in search results on any site.

Those who have already downloaded the app on their smartphones can continue to use it, but it will be more than days as Google plans to replace the classic hangouts with Google chat for workplace clients.

9to5google was the first to notice the change, claiming that Google would disable old Hangouts mobile apps in the coming weeks, and began the shift by removing the Hangouts app for new users on the iPad and iPhone. It was made available to Android users and later removed.

Google has long announced plans to replace Hangouts with Google Chats, and set a migration date (March) from Classic Hangouts to Google Chats for workplace users (formerly G Suite), and Google is about to begin relocating. October 2019 However, the multi-phase project did not begin until 2020.

Earlier this month, Google added additional capabilities to chats and spaces. It has released an update for Gmail users on Android, which brings new standalone icons.

Previously, chat (personal conversations) and spaces (like slack or any workplace) messages were the same. However, with the new update, the display icons for the two will be slightly different.
