He added: “If I don’t have a certain level of football, I’m not really in my happiness. If I want a certain level of my happiness, I have to play football. I have to score goals and enjoy myself.”
Sterling’s statements reflect his explicit recognition of his desire to leave Manchester, with several media reports linking his name to Barcelona.
