Tesla leads Volkswagen in Germany

The American company “Tesla” took the first place in the electric car market in Germany in the first half of this year, and the German “Volkswagen” is trying to catch up.

Data from the German Federal Automotive Authority shows that around 36,400 new Tesla cars were licensed between January and June 2023, accounting for 16.5% of the total of 220,200 fully electric cars licensed during that period.

Volkswagen electric cars again occupy the second place with 34,400 cars, which equates to a 15.6% share.

Mercedes came third with 16,900 cars in the first half of the year, followed by Audi with 14,400 cars and BMW with 12,800 electric cars.

Since the beginning of this year, the auto sector has seen a steady increase in sales of some agencies and not others, as 10 companies dominate the scene as the best-selling car manufacturers worldwide.

Focus2Move, a platform specializing in global automotive markets, has revealed that 10 brands sold more than 15.787 million vehicles worldwide in the first five months of 2023.

The classification of international car brands showed that as of last May, the Japanese company “Toyota” was the top selling vehicle in the world market, while the Chinese “BYD” has advanced eight places since the beginning of the year compared to last year. , which ranked 18th, is currently in the top 10 dominating the market.
