Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort Introduces Bakalis: A New Mediterranean Dining Destination on Palm Jumeirah

Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort, the boutique luxury escape on Palm Jumeirah, has announced the opening of Bakalis by ENVY, a Greek-inspired beachfront restaurant that brings the relaxed charm and coastal flavours of the Aegean to Dubai’s shoreline.

Designed as a true feet-in-the-sand dining concept, Bakalis embraces the easy-going rhythm of Greek island life, offering guests sunset-facing tables, a gentle sea breeze, and the aroma of fresh seafood from the grill. Positioned as the resort’s newest signature dining venue, it invites diners to unwind over shared dishes, enjoy carafes of chilled rosé, and take in uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s skyline.

The menu at Bakalis showcases generous sharing plates that honour authentic Greek cuisine with contemporary touches. Guests can start with classic cold mezze such as Tzatziki, Fava, Dolmades, and Marinated Anchovies, followed by warm dishes including Grilled Eggplant with Feta, Zucchini Chips, and Grilled Squid. Main courses highlight much-loved Greek staples like Traditional Moussaka, Chicken Souvlaki with Lemon Rice, Whole Sea Bass with Grilled Vegetables, Gulf Prawns, and Lamb Chops, all prepared for a communal dining experience. Two cast-iron, open-flame grills add depth of flavour to the dishes, enhancing the vibrant aromas of herbs and spices. To complete the meal, diners can indulge in desserts including Loukoumades, Bougatsa, Pistachio Baklava, and Greek Yogurt with Honey and Nuts.

“We wanted Bakalis to embody the essence of Greece, its flavors, warmth, and spirit of connection,” says Faisal Albaradie, Culinary Director at Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort. “It’s the kind of place where you feel the sand beneath your feet, share a meal under the stars, and let time slow down over good food and great company.”

Bakalis also welcomes the involvement of Chef Ioannis Baxevanis, a respected figure in Greek gastronomy known for championing traditional Greek culinary culture. A close friend of the restaurant, Chef Ioannis contributes to the storytelling behind the dishes, offering guests insight into the heritage and inspiration behind the menu.

With its beachfront setting, shared dining philosophy, and sunset-ready atmosphere, Bakalis is set to become one of Dubai’s standout dining experiences, ideal for romantic evenings, small gatherings, and bespoke private events. Each visit offers the feeling of a brief escape to the Greek isles, where flavours, scenery and conviviality align beautifully.
