The 10th edition of the International Film Festival for Effat University Students begins

Under the patronage and presence of Princess Lulwa Al-Faisal, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees and General Supervisor of Effat University, Jeddah; On Monday, March 20, 2023, the tenth session of the “Effat” International Student Film Festival begins. The tenth session of the festival, linked to Effat University, will bear the slogan “Lets Sea Films”.
This year, the festival welcomed more than 2,000 films by film students from around the world. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the School of Cinematic Arts, 60 short films have been selected to be screened at the 10th Festival.
The university has organized a press meet at the university library to reveal the highlights of the festival.
The press conference will be opened by the President of the University His Excellency Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail; To provide an outline of the festival, Dr. Asma Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Architecture and Design, provides data on the most important activities and events accompanying the festival. Dr. Muhammad Ghazala, Head of the School of Cinema Arts, Effat University, will provide an overview of the most important guests and honorees of the festival.
The festival aims to promote the Saudi film industry, serve as a cultural hub and meeting place for local and international filmmakers to network, and provide an opportunity for film students from within Saudi Arabia to watch and discuss various short films. And around the world.
The School of Cinematic Arts at Effat University is the first school in Saudi Arabia to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Cinematic Arts.
In addition, the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its renewed focus on media and entertainment have increased the need for professional content creation in media and filmmaking, which promotes and enhances a vibrant society. It should become a major project that contributes to building the Saudi film market not only in Saudi Arabia, but throughout the Gulf region.
