This week, southwestern parts of France were hit by rain and snowstorms, with some flooding followed by strong winds.

The Meteorological Department had warned of bad weather over the past week.

According to Euronews, several rivers in the Pyrenees on the Atlantic border overflow.

The region is known as one of the wettest places in France, and natural disasters hit it from time to time, but it is not at this pace.

In a small town in the province, some residents saw their homes submerged for the second time in two months when another flood hit in December 2021.

A resident of the town in the valley said: “It used to flood once every five years and now it happens every three weeks.

At the same time, hundreds of cars were stuck in heavy traffic due to heavy snowfall.
