Ukraine claims to have shot down 3 Russian warplanes

Date:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and military officials announced that Ukrainian forces shot down three Russian Su-34 bombers on the southern front yesterday.

Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk wrote on the Telegram app: “We destroyed three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers.” In his video evening speech, Zelensky praised the anti-aircraft unit of the Odessa district for shooting down Russian planes in the Kherson region.

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry announced yesterday that Russian air defense intercepted 6 Ukrainian Himars and Uragan missiles and shot down 36 Ukrainian drones in the last hours.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement carried by the Russian TASS news agency that the Russian military's tactical aircraft, artillery and missile forces bombed Ukrainian troops and equipment in 110 regions over the past day.

The statement added that Russian forces repulsed 11 Ukrainian offensives in the Donetsk region in the last hours, during which Ukrainian armed forces and equipment were wounded near the Krasnoye, Teleivka, Kirovo and Korkivka regions.

In Zaporizhia, Russian forces shelled Ukrainian forces and equipment near Malaya Dokmashka, Verbovoy, and Rabutino, resulting in Ukrainian forces losing 90 soldiers and 5 military vehicles.
