UAE AeroPress Championship returns to DMCC’s Almas Tower with 252 competitors and free entry

By GST 2 min read

The tenth UAE AeroPress Championship runs at Almas Tower in JLT from November 12 to 14, with free public entry and competitions from 6pm nightly.

The tenth UAE AeroPress Championship runs at DMCC’s Almas Tower in Jumeirah Lakes Towers from November 12 to 14, with 252 competitors from the seven emirates and free public entry from 6pm each evening.

DMCC said on Thursday that the championship is open to the public at no charge, with competitions beginning at 6pm on all three days. No ticket price or booking process was given.

The three-day event is organised by Mokha 1450, a Dubai-based specialty coffee company, in conjunction with the World AeroPress Championships. This year’s theme is “United and Strong”.

The championship has two regional rounds followed by a national final, and each emirate fields 36 competitors.

The first regional round is on November 12 and brings together 144 competitors from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.

The second round is on November 13 and features 108 competitors from Dubai, Ajman and Fujairah. Dubai’s entrants therefore compete on the second evening.

The top three from each emirate go through to the national final on November 14, where 21 finalists compete for the UAE title.

The winner earns the chance to represent the UAE at the World AeroPress Championship in Mexico City on December 6, 2026.

Garfield Kerr, chief executive of Mokha 1450, said demand for places was high. In his words, the number of competitor applications “far outstrips our capacity”.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman and chief executive officer of DMCC, said the tenth championship reflects DMCC’s commitment to strengthening the UAE’s position as a coffee hub, and that it celebrates coffee culture across all seven emirates.

DMCC runs a Coffee Centre that provides processing, roasting, storage and logistics services. It is the authority’s link to the event.

The championship has been held at Almas Tower before.

The ninth edition ran there from November 6 to 8, 2025, with regional rounds on the first two days and a national final on the third.

That edition followed the same structure: 36 competitors per emirate, 21 finalists, and a theme built around Qahwa culture in the Emirates. This year the theme moves to unity.

The national winner in 2025 had the chance to represent the UAE at the World AeroPress Championship in Seoul, South Korea, on December 5 and 6, 2025.

When: November 12 to 14, from 6pm each evening. Round one is November 12, round two (including Dubai) is November 13, and the national final is November 14.

Where: Almas Tower, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai.

Price: free.

Tickets: open to the public; no booking details have been published.
