The Ukrainian military attacked Feodosia on the Crimean peninsula and destroyed a vessel belonging to the Russian Black Sea Fleet suspected of carrying drones, according to a Ukrainian air force statement, which the Russian Defense Ministry and officials said were one person. The Russian naval base of Feodosia is located on the Crimean Peninsula in the Black Sea.
Meanwhile, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced yesterday that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Vladimir Putin about the attack and the damage to the large Russian landing ship “Novoserkask”.
The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement: “Two Ukrainian Su-24 fighter jets fired guided missiles while repelling an attack by Ukrainian forces targeting the port of Feodosia on the Crimean peninsula, and damaged the large amphibious landing ship “Novocherkask”. Some distance south of the village of Govten 125 km northeast of the city of Nikolaev, Ukraine, resulting in one death.The President of the Republic of Crimea, Serhii Aksenov, announced that an attack by Ukrainian forces targeting the port of Feodosia in Crimea had been repelled, resulting in the death of one person and the wounding of two others, and six buildings in the port area were damaged.
The Ukrainian Air Force said it was subject to new night strikes using drones, particularly in the Kherson and Odessa regions.
