The first Semicon Summit – Dubai 2025 has closed on a strong note, marking its role as a working platform for the semiconductor sector in the UAE and across the GCC. Hosted by McKinsey Electronics, the two-day event brought together global chip makers, regional solution firms and industrial users for technical sessions, live demos and project-based talks.
The Summit took place in Dubai and moved away from standard conference formats. It focused on direct engineering discussions, one-to-one meetings and hands-on demonstrations. These sessions addressed real issues across the semiconductor value chain, from parts selection and system design to factory use and scaling.
Instead of broad market forecasts, speakers shared updates on technology already in use across the region. Sessions showed how demand for semiconductor solutions is growing in sectors such as energy, transport, lighting, automation and electronics production.
“This was a very successful first edition,” said Toni Mourad, Managing Director of McKinsey Electronics, during his interview at the event. “What stood out was the depth of engagement. Engineers, manufacturers, and clients were not just exchanging ideas, but actively discussing specifications, applications, and real projects. The level of participation we’ve seen is clear proof of the semiconductor sector’s potential in the UAE and the wider GCC.”
McKinsey Electronics acted as a key link between global suppliers and regional partners. The team helped connect companies and shared technical know-how to support real project needs in local markets.
“I truly believe we are going to witness one of the fastest exponential growth phases the semiconductor industry has ever seen, particularly in this region,” Mourad added. “Based on the momentum we’ve seen on the ground from demos to technical meetings you can already expect the second edition of the Semicon Summit to take place in 2027.”
