The Ministry of Education has published the UAE public school uniform guide for 2026-2027, covering approved designs, prices and authorised sales outlets for government school students from kindergarten to Grade 12.
The guide is available on the ministry’s website and includes illustrations of every approved uniform, a full price list, and details of where families can buy the items before the first day of school on 31 August 2026.
Where to buy and what the guide covers
Government school uniforms will be sold through approved LuLu Hypermarket outlets across the UAE, as well as designated locations serving more remote communities. The ministry said the guide is intended to give parents and schools a single reference point and reduce confusion when purchasing before term starts.
Beyond the price list and approved designs, the guide also sets out an exchange policy and details a tailoring service available to students, according to the ministry’s official uniform guide page.
The uniforms cover all educational stages and are designed to be practical for daily school use.
Key dates in the 2026-2027 academic calendar
Teaching and administrative staff are due back on 24 August 2026, one week ahead of students, according to the Ministry of Education’s Academic Calendar 2026-2027. The year comprises 185 school days across three terms: Term 1 runs for 67 school days, Term 2 for 60 and Term 3 for 58.
A mid-term break falls from 12 to 18 October 2026, with classes resuming on 19 October, the ministry’s three-year calendar announcement shows.
The winter break runs from 14 December 2026 to 1 January 2027 for students, with schools resuming on 4 January 2027.
The spring break dates are listed as 5 to 9 April 2027 in the ministry’s PDF calendar, while the ministry’s news announcement gives 5 to 11 April 2027. The two official documents conflict on the end date; parents should check the ministry’s website for any clarification closer to the time. Schools resume on 12 April 2027 according to the ministry’s calendar news page.
The school year ends on 2 July 2027.
Preparing before 31 August
Families have roughly one month from now to complete uniform purchases ahead of the 31 August start. Arabic-language reporting on the guide, including coverage by Al Bayan and Al Ittihad, notes the guide has been widely circulated as part of back-to-school preparations. The ministry’s guide page on moe.gov.ae is the authoritative source for approved item pricing by educational stage.
The full guide, including all approved designs and the price list by stage, is available to download from the Ministry of Education’s website. Staff return to campuses on 24 August 2026.
