  • Women’s tennis returns to the UAE capital from 31 January to 7 February 2026 at Zayed Sports City
  • Tournament to feature 28 singles competitors and 16 doubles teams over eight thrilling days
  • Early ticket buyers entered into a draw for an exclusive trip to the Mubadala DC Open 2026

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has announced the return of world-class women’s tennis to the UAE capital, with its fourth edition confirmed for 31 January to 7 February 2026 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.

Building on the success of its record-breaking 2025 tournament, which saw eight of the world’s top 20 players compete before packed crowds, the 2026 edition promises an even greater spectacle, cementing Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading destination for elite sport.

Now one of the most prestigious fixtures in women’s tennis, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open continues to attract high-ranking players, driven by valuable WTA points and its reputation for excellence.

The upcoming event will feature 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams, continuing the legacy of last season’s tournament where Olympic gold medallist and inaugural champion Belinda Bencic reclaimed her title after a thrilling final victory against Ashlyn Krueger. Meanwhile, Jelena Ostapenko and Ellen Perez triumphed in doubles.

Jointly hosted by Mubadala and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the WTA 500 event is part of the prestigious Hologic WTA Tour and blends elite tennis with a lively fan experience. The competition unfolds over eight days, beginning with qualifiers and culminating in the championship matches on Saturday, 7 February.

In a special reward for fans, those purchasing tickets before the end of November will be entered into a draw for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Mubadala DC Open 2026. The prize includes flights, accommodation, and VIP event access.

Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer for Mubadala Investment Company, said: “For more than 15 years, Mubadala has been proud to champion tennis and bring world-class sporting experiences to the UAE. As a global investor, we are committed to creating long-term value not only in the industries we invest in, but also in the communities we serve. The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has quickly become one of the most significant sporting events in the UAE, inspiring future talent, and uniting the community.”

His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, added: “This championship has become a highlight of Abu Dhabi’s global sporting calendar, reinforcing the capital’s reputation as an international hub for elite sport. Each year, we continue to build on this success and we are excited to welcome players, fans and families back to Zayed Sports City for another spectacular edition.”

Portia Archer, WTA CEO, commented: “We are thrilled to see the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open return for its fourth edition in 2026. This tournament has quickly earned a place as a favourite stop on the WTA Tour thanks to its excellent organization, enthusiastic crowds and the warm hospitality of Abu Dhabi. The Fan Village at the 2025 tournament was best in class on the tour and we look forward to another fantastic week in the UAE.”

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has established itself as a cornerstone of the Emirate’s sports calendar, reflecting its ambition to host events that inspire and engage the community. Through initiatives such as the Schools Programme, the event connects with thousands of students, while Emirati women continue to play leading roles behind the scenes and on the courts.

Beyond the world-class tennis, the Fan Village returns as a central attraction, offering live entertainment, player meet-ups, prize competitions, and a rich array of food and beverage options.

Children under 12 can enjoy free entry during the first five days of the tournament, while the opening Saturday remains open to all with complimentary seating. Multi-day ticket bundles and Courtside Hospitality packages offer excellent value, providing premium seating, gourmet dining, exclusive lounge access, and convenient parking for those seeking an elevated experience.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open is more than a tournament; it’s an experience, a celebration of tennis, and a source of inspiration for future generations of athletes and fans. Tickets can be purchased now at www.mubadalaabudhabiopen.com
