Emirates student fare discount opens to ages 16–31 with extra baggage

Emirates has launched a student fare discount giving travellers aged 16 to 31 reduced airfares and additional baggage allowance on bookings made through to 31 March 2027. The Emirates student fare discount applies across Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class, with students required to enter the promotional code ‘STUDENT’ at the time of booking.

What the Emirates student fare discount covers

Students booking Economy Class fares can receive up to 10% off, while those booking Premium Economy or Business Class are eligible for up to 5% off. According to the Emirates student special fares terms and conditions, discounts are exclusive of taxes and surcharges, and only one student fare can be booked per transaction. The benefit cannot be applied to previously purchased tickets.

On top of the fare reduction, students travelling on most routes receive an extra 10kg baggage allowance plus one additional piece of baggage. Journeys to or from the United States and Canada are excluded from the baggage benefit.

At check-in, students must present a valid student ID or a school acceptance letter. The booking window closes on 31 March 2027.

Crypto payments now accepted on Emirates flights

Emirates has also expanded its payment options through a partnership with Crypto.com, a Singapore-based digital payments operator. Passengers holding a Crypto.com account can now select Crypto.com Pay at checkout on emirates.com and the Emirates app. According to the Emirates and Crypto.com payment partnership announcement, the option is available to eligible UAE residents for bookings priced and settled in dirhams, with transactions processed in compliance with UAE regulatory standards.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in July 2025 to explore integrating Crypto.com Pay into the airline’s digital payment systems, with the full rollout following that agreement.

Crypto.com holds a Stored Value Facilities (SVF) licence from the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), making it the first Virtual Asset Service Provider to receive that authorisation from the regulator. The CBUAE’s 2025 annual report recorded 16 licensed SVF issuers in the UAE, up 23% from 13 the previous year, reflecting broader growth in the licensed digital payments sector.

A Yahoo Finance report on the SVF approval noted that Crypto.com operates in the UAE through its entity Foris DAX Middle East FZ-LLC and received in-principle approval from the CBUAE before the full licence was granted, following on-site inspections by the regulator’s supervision and compliance departments.

Students can check full eligibility conditions and route-specific baggage rules on the Emirates website before booking. The 31 March 2027 deadline marks the cut-off for using the STUDENT promotional code.
