- At the Dubai Airshow, RoyalJet confirmed CFM International as the engine supplier for its future fleet
- The CFM LEAP-1A engine will power RoyalJet’s three firm ACJ320neo orders and six purchase rights
RoyalJet, the Abu Dhabi-based premium private jet operator, has confirmed that the CFM LEAP-1A engine will power its incoming fleet of ACJ320neo aircraft currently on order with Airbus.
The LEAP-1A engine is produced by CFM International, a joint venture equally owned by GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
The LEAP family has achieved the fastest production ramp-up in commercial aviation, powering 4,000 aircraft within nine years. Its use of advanced materials, including composite fan blades and ceramic matrix composites, delivers a 15 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency and a 15 per cent reduction in carbon emissions compared with the previous-generation CFM56. Supported by advanced health monitoring technology and a global open MRO network, the LEAP engine is designed for high reliability and optimal utilisation in narrowbody operations.
“CFM International and its LEAP engines have built a solid reputation in the market for its safety, reliability and fuel efficiency,” said Mohammed Husain Ahmed, Acting CEO, RoyalJet. “Their impeccable track record of being the preferred engine provider for such type of aircraft as the ACJ320neo is almost unquestionable. We are therefore excited to partner with CFM International as our aircraft engine provider as we aim to continue to deliver to customers our distinct brand of service and operational excellence that we at RoyalJet have been known for all these years.”
“We are honored to take our relationship with RoyalJet to another level,” said Gaël Méheust, President and CEO of CFM International. “This partnership reflects RoyalJet’s trust in the LEAP-1A engine’s cutting-edge technology, operational reliability, and fuel efficiency. We are proud to contribute to RoyalJet’s vision of delivering world-class service and operational excellence, and we look forward to supporting the success of their new Airbus fleet.”
In February, RoyalJet placed firm orders for three ACJ320neo aircraft along with six purchase rights, supporting its strategy to expand and enhance its product offering. Already recognised as the world’s largest operator of BBJ aircraft, this order marks the company’s first step into the Airbus corporate jet family.
