Swiss-Belhotel International, a leading global hospitality management company, reaffirmed its growing investment in Africa by participating in the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, held from 1 to 3 October in Nairobi. Recognised as the continent’s foremost tourism trade fair, MKTE serves as a vital meeting point for regional and global travel professionals.
This year’s edition underscored MKTE’s reputation as a key driver of Africa’s tourism sector, attracting hospitality groups, destination partners, and investors from across the continent. Swiss-Belhotel International made a strong impression with its own branded booth, represented by the Group Sales and Marketing Department, the EMEA Regional Sales Office, and teams from Swiss-Belinn Nairobi and Nairobi Safari Club by Swiss-Belhotel.
Laurent A. Voivenel, Senior Vice President – Operations & Development, EMEAI, and Senior Vice President – Group Human Resources & Talent Development at Swiss-Belhotel International, stated: “Africa remains a key focus market in our global growth strategy. Our presence at MKTE 2025 reflects our long-term commitment to this dynamic and diverse region. This platform not only allowed us to strengthen our existing partnerships but also provided the opportunity to meet numerous hotel owners and investors from across Africa who are looking for trusted international operators with proven regional expertise.”

Echoing this sentiment, Priyanka Kapoor, Group Director – Sales, Marketing, Branding and Communications, and Sr. Regional Director – EMEA Sales and Marketing, noted: “This was our first time to participate at MKTE, and I was delighted by the excellent turnout. The meetings were focused, meaningful, and demonstrated the immense potential of the African market. Having our own booth was crucial in elevating brand visibility, as Africa is an important growth frontier for Swiss-Belhotel International.”
Swiss-Belhotel International first entered the East African market with Swiss-Belinn Nairobi, located in the serene Kileleshwa neighbourhood and managed by NIBS Resort Company Limited. Shortly thereafter, it expanded its portfolio with the Nairobi Safari Club, rebranded under the Swiss-Belhotel name. In Tanzania, development continues with Swiss-Belresort Zanzibar, a collaboration with Crown Hotel and Resort Limited, and the upcoming Swiss-Belboutique Masaki Dar es Salaam, a luxury five-star hotel being developed by Astra Capital Limited on the Msasani Peninsula.
Driven by a strategic commitment to Africa’s growth, the group continues to explore new opportunities across the continent. Its expanding portfolio caters to travellers seeking experiences that harmoniously blend authentic local culture with Swiss-Belhotel’s signature international standards.
Hosted annually by the Kenya Tourism Board, the Magical Kenya Travel Expo stands as East and Central Africa’s largest travel trade event. The expo brings together industry leaders, operators, and investors to promote collaboration, forge strategic alliances, and celebrate the diversity of Africa’s tourism offerings.
