Soirée, the Manhattan-style grape bar and restaurant located in the iconic Opus Tower by Zaha Hadid, is adding a new dimension to Dubai’s nightlife scene with the city’s first-ever Sake Matsuri Festival. Scheduled for Monday, 29 September, this exclusive one-night event will celebrate Japan’s iconic sake culture through a guided tasting journey, paired with artisanal cheeses and set to the vibrant sounds of vintage Japanese funk.

Situated within the Opus Tower by Zaha Hadid, Soirée is renowned for its forward-thinking wine list and imaginative cocktails. This season, the venue brings that same adventurous spirit to the world of sake. Guests will join the sommelier team on a curated tasting flight of four premium and rare sakes, each thoughtfully paired with hand-selected cheeses and accompaniments.

The evening will also feature a sake introduction masterclass running from 6 PM to 9 PM. This interactive session will explore the brewing process, reveal distinct tasting profiles, and share the rich traditions behind one of Japan’s most iconic beverages. From crisp, delicate styles to fuller, more robust varieties, the tasting experience aims to showcase the depth and variety of sake, making it accessible to seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike.

Enhancing the atmosphere, the night’s soundtrack will feature a bespoke selection of 1970s Japanese funk, adding a playful yet sophisticated note that complements Soirée’s distinctive ambiance. Priced at AED 169 per person, inclusive of the pairings and masterclass, the festival offers an immersive exploration of sake in the heart of Downtown Dubai. Reservations are encouraged as spaces are limited for this one-off event.

Soirée has become a go-to destination in Dubai’s dining and nightlife scene, recognised for its intimate parlour-inspired interiors, extensive selection of biodynamic and natural wines by the glass, and creative cocktail offerings. By introducing the Sake Matsuri Festival, the venue continues to push boundaries, giving guests a chance to experience another side of global beverage culture while enjoying Soirée’s signature blend of connection, music, and style.
