There are more than 62k pictures on Instagram with the hashtag #YogaInDubai, so we’re not surprised at the number of new yoga studios constantly popping up in our city.
If you’re looking for a guide to the best yoga studios in the emirate to check out, here it is. We’ve attended yoga classes all around the city, and these are hands down our favourites!
Bay Yoga – for the Business Bay Bikram lovers
Our go-to for getting hot. This welcoming studio runs classic 90-minute Bikram classes and express hour-long sessions, which are a great introduction to doing yoga in a heated room. For a more gentle flow, hot yin yoga is a great way to stretch your muscles and challenge your mind, as you hold postures for three to five minutes.
Unit 905-06, Grosvenor Business Tower, Al Abraj Street, Business Bay. Bikram classes AED 90. 04 425 5960.
Yoga Ashram – for the JLT yogis
We tried out an early morning yoga class at Yoga Ashram, expecting a nice relaxing stretch before work. We were so so wrong. Our instructor really pushed us to our limits and challenged our strength and stamina. We loved it, and would definitely recommend everyone to try it.
1504, Jumeirah Bay X3, JLT Cluster X. yogaashram.com. 04 360 9028. Classes from AED 75.
Trident Wellness Centre – for the Dubai Marina yogis
Filled with natural light, this place great energy and good vibes. There are about 15 classes a day, and the instructors teach a large variety of yoga classes from Vinyasa Flow to yoga therapy. Power yoga with Karthik is one of our favourites, but we heard Jivamukti is pretty good too!
Trident Bayside, Dubai Marina (formerly 136.1 studio). 04 441 6287. AED 95 per class (AED 70 for your first class). 04 425 5960.
Voyoga – for the Barsha Heights yogis
If you practice Bikram yoga regularly, you must try Voyoga’s Hot Voyoga class with Victoria. Also in the heat, it’s a little like Bikram but much faster and pushes you to new levels, with different and deeper stretches. Amazing. Too intense? Don’t worry they also do regular Bikram, Swing and Kundalini.
31st Executive Floor, i-Rise tower, Tecom. voyoga.net. 04 553 8630. AED 85 (AED 90 for swing).
Urban Yoga – for the Business Bay yogis
Just like its name suggests, Urban Yoga is perfect for Dubai’s urban community. Here we’ve tried glow in the dark yoga, candlelight yoga and more. As it’s on the 37th floor, the views are inspiring too.
3701 Aspect Tower, Executive Towers, Business Bay. urbanyoga.ae. 04 369 7882. From AED 90
Inspire Yoga and Pilates – for the Manara yogis
This studio offers everything from high-intensity workouts to Yin yoga. If you’re a fan of Swing, the classes are good (but also quite popular there, so book in advance). But if you’re up to try something that’s not so easy, the morning Power yoga classes with Fran are amazing. We’re officially regulars.
1st Floor, T&G Avenue Building (above Bystro), Sheikh Zayed Road. inspiremeyoga.net. 04 321 9771. First class free, subsequent classes from AED 95.
Zen Yoga – for the Emirates Hills yogis
We tried out the five-day trial package at Zen Yoga, and after five consecutive days at the studio, we could really see the difference. Our arm balance had improved, we were noticeably more flexible and felt so zen. Can’t make it to Emirates Hills? They’ve recently opened a new studio in Al Wasl Road too.
Springs Town Centre Shopping Mall. 04 367 0435.
Eco Yoga Sanctuary – for the Jumierah yogis
As soon as you walk into this studio, you feel like you’ve entered a spa. It’s so peaceful and quiet that we can’t think of a better place to meditate. We’ve tried a few yoga classes in this women-only studio, including the super-chilled Yin yoga and our all-time favourite, Power Vinyasa.
First floor, The Village Mall – Jumeirah 1. 056 771 1336. From AED 85.
Gems of Yoga – for the Trade Centre yogis
This is one of the oldest yoga studios in Dubai, and the first one we ever tried. Apart from the usual classes that most studios offer, what sets Gems of Yoga apart is its Animal Yoga classes for kids. The sessions are fun, different every time, challenge your flexibility and focus a lot on breathing techniques.
1701, White Crown Building, SZR. gemsofyogadubai.com. 04 331 5161. AED 100.
Bharat Thakur Artistic Yoga – for the Bur Dubai yogis
Artistic yoga is a completely different type of exercise that combines modern techniques and the ancient art of yoga. Directed towards those who want to do yoga to get fit in a shorter span of time, this class works on strength, stamina, endurance, agility and balance. Not your typical yoga class, but it’s definitely a fun and different way to keep fit.
Four Points by Sheraton Hotel Downtown, Bur Dubai (and many more locations). artisticyoga.com. 800 9642. From AED 75.
(Prices may have increased with VAT. Please check directly with the studios)
