These amazing graffiti murals are transforming one of the most historical significant parts of Dubai into a tribute to Emirati culture.

Giant coffee pots, majestic eagles and happy children in national dress are depicted in the towering drawings.

It’s all part of the Dubai Street Museum project, an urban arts initiative that has just been given the seal of approval by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Creatives from around the world, along with UAE art students, are working to create eye-catching artworks across the emirate to seal Dubai’s drive to turn its public spaces into an open-air museum.

His Highness says that the historical significance of the 2nd of December Street makes it the perfect place for the first series of murals to be created.

He hopes they become a “source of inspiration and learning in the quest for greater achievements” and the striking visuals are already proving a hit on social media.

Murals will be painted on building in more streets across Dubai over the next five years.

They’ll also be appearing in the mountainous area of Hatta, where the landscape and history of the popular weekend getaway spot will inspire the paintings.
