Students wave their way into the records books in time for the UAE’s 46th National Day.
More than 4,130 students from GEMS Cambridge International School – Abu Dhabi and GEMS United Indian School came together dressed in the country’s colours to form the world’s largest waving human flag.
The feat was verified on the spot by representatives from Guinness World Records at the school’s sports ground. Here’s what they saw:
Dino Varkey, CEO at GEMS Education, said: “Today, after 46 years, the UAE is one of the most advanced and sought-after countries across the globe.
“By creating the World’s Largest Human Waving Flag, we wanted to pay a tribute to the UAE and the achievements of our visionary leaders.”
The institution and its students are no strangers to smashing world records having already set the World’s Largest Transforming Human Image last year, and bringing together a record-breaking number of students from 119 countries to sing the UAE national anthem together in 2014.
