roast shoot -8

A perfect match

Some things are just undeniably English: summer rain, tea with milk in it, fish and chips and apologising for apologising. One of our personal favourites is watching the footie in your local with a pint of hops, a cracking roast dinner and a jug of gravy. New Brit landlords at the Lion, Nick Alvis & Scott Price – or the Michelin-calibre Mitchell brothers as we like to call them (you saw it here first) – have made that last list item, one of their first orders of business.

AED 110 for roast + pint. Saturday and Sunday. The Lion, H Hotel. 04 359 2366. 8am-3am.

Antojitos

La-La-La-Loca face

Come to Latin restaurant Loca on Mondays for a night of Antojitos & Tunes. Antojitos is a Mexican tapas-esque dining concept (meaning ‘little craving’) and at Loca, includes delectable dishes like dorada, ceviche, taquitos, mole, arrachera beef, King fish and we could go on, but we’re making the entire office sweat with food envy.
