You could wish upon a star for good things in 2019, or you could wish upon the world tallest building. Yep, no biggie, the Burj Khalifa is accepting New Year wishes.
The brains behind 828-metre tower are asking people to take to social media and share their hopes and dreams with the hashtag #2019MakeAWish on Emaar’s Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts, @EmaarDubai.
A lucky number will see their message displayed on the Burj Khalifa’s huge LED façade during the New Year’s Eve Gala in Downtown Dubai on 31st December. People all over the world are welcome to take part in ‘Burj Wishes.’
Contenders so far include the meaningful – @mehnazbari Love and support for people of determination across the globe
#2019makeawish #snfdevelopmentcenter – along with marriage proposals and greetings to loved ones.
As well as being the tallest tower on earth, the Burj also has the largest LED panel on the planet. It’s been used to share creative and colourful campaigns, like a show by Britain’s Got Talent stars Freelusion and football scores in the World Cup – since being installed in 2016.
This year’s New Year’s Eve celebration by Emaar promises to be “bigger, better and brighter” than ever before, says organisers. Fireworks are back, along with “several amazing new elements.” These include “scintillating water-music performances at The Dubai Fountain” that we can watch from “special viewing platforms…set up across Downtown Dubai.”
