Binge watch, don’t stop this Eid break as cinemas stay open round the clock.
Novo Cinemas are screening 24 hours a day through the Eid al Fitr holiday. From 5th-7th June, catch blockbusters from sunset to sunrise.
On the big screens are smashes including monster movie Godzilla, action flick John Wick 3, comedy The Hustle, Bollywood movie Bharat, Emirati film Rashid & Rajab, Disney’s Aladdin and, our favourite, The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Novo has cinemas around the UAE, but the ones catering to night owls and early risers are Dubai Festival City, Dragon Mart 2 and the futuristic new IMAX cinema at IMG Worlds of Adventure (and World Trade Centre Mall in Abu Dhabi, if you’re staycationing).
If you’re at Novo Festival City on Wednesday, be sure to check out the spectacular show of fireworks synchronised with Arabic music, fountains, lights and lasers that Dubai Festival City Mall has planned.
The Eid al Fitr event takes place at 8pm and 10pm on 5th June and 6th June, so you have two chances to see the skies light up.
Is it just this brand of cinemas though? Oh No…vo – there’s another outlet that is Reely picking up on the holiday vibes. Yes, Reel cinemas will also be open all hours over the Eid holiday period too. This includes the Reel Junior, Platinum Movie Suites, Dolby Cinema and Dine-in Cinema screens.
There will be a special screening of Rashid & Rajab at The Dubai Mall on the first day of Eid. The Arabic comedy follows the story of an Emirati businessman swapping bodies with an Egyptian delivery guy. Perhaps our letters demanding that Freaky Friday gets a regional reboot did land on the right desk after all? The film’s director Mohammed Saeed Harib, and stars Shadi Alfons and Sheema, will be in attendance at the screening, tickets for which cost AED 75.
Contact your cinema to confirm dates timings. Dates are moon sighting dependent but likely to commence Monday 3rd June and end on Thursday 7th June. Selected Novo and Reel Cinemas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
