Jog on – the second round of timed runs and walks is taking place at the world’s largest themed mall. Meet in the China Court at 8.30am for a warm-up session led by trainers from Fitness First, followed by a walk, jog or sprint over 2.5 kilometres or 5 km, to cover all six of the mall’s travel-themed courts.

It’s not Ferrari to go
FYI if you’re heading AUH way – there are FREE buses from The Dubai Mall, Deira City Centre and Mall of the Emirates directly to Ferrari World’s location on Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi. It also means you won’t risk picking any fines up on the way home after developing a taste for speed.

The Junction is bringing a special three-night run of Martin McDonagh’s (In Bruges, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) superbly crafted play – A Behanding in Spokane to Dubai. The story follows a man’s search for his long-lost hand and includes black comedy, scintillating dialogue and a lot of profanity. You have been warned.

The Kabayan weekend at Laguna Waterpark, La Mer, grants access to the dramatic aquatic fun space for AED 49 per person. If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve missed out on Glasto tickets again this year. But dry your eyes mate, garden on 8 has the remedy. Fun in buckets and spades as Dubai Marina Mall invites us all to an indoor beach party. While we take a break from Dubai’s beaches over the scorching summer, we can still feel the sand between our toes. Parents need to show a AED 100 receipt for goods bought in the mall that day for AAA to a mini ‘beach,’ arts and crafts stations and a giant ball pit too.

A league of their own
The Justice League (Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash and possibly Judge Judy depending on scheduling clashes) will be appearing at City Centre Deira between 27th June-6th July. The heroes we want, and arguably deserve, will be performing live shows and training up willing new recruits a using Virtual Reality superhero simulator. Any villains contemplating nefarious deeds would be wise to steer clear of the Deira over that period.

Sumo Sushi & Bento has started doing breakfast – and it’s not what you think. Whilst we’re on-board with sashimi first thing in the morning, we understand we’re probably in the minority. Any outside yoga is hot yoga right now and this vinyasa flow session in JLT park is sure to work up a sweat. This session is for all levels, from the very beginner to the regular practitioner.
