Disney’s leading ladies have been big news this week and we’re pleased to announce another is making headlines.
Singer and actress Lea Salonga is coming back to Dubai Opera, after debuting there in 2017.
She’s a hero back home in the Philipines and around the world, people know her voice from giving song to Disney princesses Jasmine and Mulan – she was named an official Disney Legend in 2011, so we’d say she’s pretty much a queen too.
Salonga also has a lifelong musical pedigree and made history as the first Asian performer to play Eponine in Les Misérables on Broadway.
Here she is in action at our own opera house:
Over two nights in March 2020, the Tony and Olivier award-winner will perform Broadway hits, Disney film favourites and pop and musical theatre numbers, as well as songs from her latest album.
Her first visit to Dubai was a sell-out, so get your tickets asap – they go on sale at Dubai Opera’s website from Monday (8th July). Prices start from AED 250 and there’s a 20 per cent discount on some seating categories until 21st July.
Jasper Hope, chief executive at Dubai Opera, says: “Disney Legend Lea Salonga gave two sold-out and amazing performances at Dubai Opera in 2017 and I am delighted she’s agreed to return in 2020 to once again thrill fans with her incredible talent.”
5th and 6th March 2020. Dubai Opera House, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard. Tickets are on sale from Monday (8th July) at www.dubaiopera.com
