It has just been announced that there will be a dry day in Dubai next week.

That means for 24 hours, licensed premises must not sell alcohol (including hotels) and so nightclubs must close and brunches will be probably be cancelled or rescheduled.

Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) confirmed that this will last from 5pm on Thursday, 30th November until 6pm on Friday, 1st December.

Best to check with venues directly if you’ve booked for those days. Of course, there are still plenty of things to do in Dubai and we’ll have a round-up of the best here.

To mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), Martyrs’ Day and National Day, Thursday 30th November to Sunday, 3rd December will be time off for the public sector. We’re still to hear on whether workers in private businesses will have a day off too.
