Alicia Keys is the last global megastar to be announced for February’s Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival – where she’ll be performing in our own concrete jungle where dreams are made of.
Keys joins Snow Patrol and Jamiroquai to complete a three-day line up that is light on the conventional understanding of jazz but brings plenty of soul to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre between the 20th-22nd of February.
The gifted musician, who’s dabbled in acting, has won 15 Grammy Awards, is a borderline virtuoso on multiple instruments (often seen performing behind a piano), is well known for her humanitarian work. And she’s achieved all this before the age of 40. Incredible. Excuse us while we nip into the corner for a quick cry.
Keys is probably best known for her hits ‘Fallin’, ‘Girl on Fire,’ ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ and her anthemic 2009 collaboration with Jay Z ‘Empire State of Mind.’ She proved her worth as a mentor too last year on the US version of The Voice, winning the show with her contestant, Chris Blue. So we’ll just add nurturing the world’s next wave of musical talent to her list of superpowers too shall we?
The 37 year old mother of two (seriously, she’s a mother too? Come on…) was last in Dubai for her Set The World on Fire Tour in 2013. She’ll be closing out the jazz fest, on February 22nd. Tickets are expected to fly off the virtual shelves, so we suggest fans get theirs ASAP.
