A legend continues in Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle out in cinemas on 21st December.
If you’ve seen the original Jumanji, you’ll have been eagerly awaiting this can’t-miss sequel. In case you missed the freewheeling fantasy adventure first time round, let us bring you up to speed.
The story centres around young Alan Parrish, who becomes trapped inside a board game while playing it with his best friend Sarah. A long 26 years later, Alan’s siblings Judy and Peter find and begin playing the game and release the now-adult Alan. After tracking down Sarah, they need to try to finish the game to reverse all the destruction it has caused.
Now the story continues in the long-awaited Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle.
Four high school teenagers discover an old video game console and are then drawn into the game, where each one of them turns into the adult avatars they chose.
Geeky, afraid of everything Spencer, is transported into the body of, wait for it, Dr Smolder Bravestone, and just like the name suggests, he’s as brave as he is muscular. Selfish but popular jock Fridge is now dorky hat-wearing, locked and loaded Moose Finbar, while awkward bookworm Martha has become fearless Ruby Roundhouse, a warrior with the strength of Lara Croft. As for Instagram-obsessed Bethany, she goes from being a blonde beauty to a middle-aged man. Sucks for her!
Spoiler – what they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji, but Jumanji plays you and you must survive it to win. Movies fans probably know by now that there is only one way to beat the game and return to the real world and their families – the crew must go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives to discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, while changing the way they think and see themselves – or it’s the Jumanji Jungle for the rest of their lives.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the perfect family movie for the holidays. Stock up on popcorn and prepare for some laughs as you go back to the jungle. Don’t miss this adventure starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan when it hits UAE cinemas from 21st December.
